PSI South Asia Office with the affiliated unions in India have organised the Global call action against poverty on October 17, 2007. They made a presentation to a secondary school in Faridabad where the global call of action against poverty was explained. Students, teachers and employees of the school all took the pledge to stand up and speak out against poverty. Two banners were made to promote quality public services and to end poverty and the students, teachers and employees have been invited to sign them throughout the day.Other activities were organised at the National Girls Higher Secondary School, Chennai, India and the National Body High School, Triplicane, where Mr. Durai from the Food Corporation of India Employees Union (PSI affiliated union) addressed the students.
